Hair time, shoelaces, a wagon that needs fixing. Small moments a child will recognize from home.

Grandma and Grandpa pages
Grandma keeps the recipes and the stories. Grandpa planted the garden. They also dance on the porch.

Whole-family pages
A picnic, a drum circle, a beach cleanup, and one free hidden-picture page with the two children.

About these pages
The Olé family (say it “oh-lay”) is a Black Caribbean-American family: big sister Ginger-O, little brother Mang-O, Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa. They run a juice store and keep a garden, and their hair grows into ginger petals and mango leaves. You can read about each of them on the family page.
The pages are drawn for ages 4 to 8, with bold outlines and big open spaces. They show an African American and Caribbean family in ordinary, happy moments: cooking, gardening, making music, looking after each other.
Which pages are free?
Find 10 Hidden Mangoes is free to download and print. The other pages on this screen are previews from Meet the Olé Family, which has 22 family scenes, 6 character pages and 6 activities. The book comes as a paperback ($9.99 on Amazon) or a print-at-home PDF ($5.99).
For classrooms and care groups
Teachers and caregivers are welcome to print the free page for their own group, and the print-at-home PDF may be printed as often as you like for your own classroom. See printing tips and classroom use.
